Hey guys…is anyone else sometimes lonely in recovery? My mental health has been struggling so much lately. I have 18 months today but I’m not in a mood to celebrate it. I just feel lost in life. Please pray for me
Prayers are with you Hannah🙏
In my early sobriety I learned that service work in the sober community got rid of loneliness altogether. I made really great friends in recovery. My mental health became much better than ever.
Whenever I feel anything negative, service is always the key. No pills or therapy needed.
I hope you feel better
Absolutely ! Happy anniversary. I didn’t wanna celebrate any of my months until month 6 now I’m at months 8 and it feels a little better. Don’t blame yourself or be hard on yourself for not wanting to celebrate. It’s not gonna be a woo hoo thing each time u know? Have some grace for self and be gentle cuz ur still healing. We all are. Keep your head up and do something that makes you happy that’s not using and I’ll pray for some peace for you girl. Hang in there. We got this.
Prayers and yes I do sometimes
Prayers🙏🏼 you got this. You for you if you need.
My whole life is loneliness..
Prayers sent.
Prayer my friend🙏🏼
Prayers for you Hannah. Loneliness can ebb and flow in recovery. You get what you put in. Keep coming to the table. I'm proud of you for your 18 months. That's huge. Bravo

Sober anniversaries and milestones can be tough for me too. They are even tougher than belly button birthdays lol.
I learned that not doing things the way others do is okay.
Choosing to be of service to "celebrate" these types of events is something most 'normal' people can understand rather than judge.
Maybe it will make it easier for you to "celebrate" with service the same way?
Awww, listen please. I’m speaking from experience I’ve lived through multiple relapses and gave multiple years to addiction. I based life on the way I felt. But I was just because I wasn’t used to a lot of the emotions or life showing up and happening on the days. My mood wasn’t top-tier. I’d base everything on that and that was the wrong thing to do because it didn’t only discourage me. it encouraged me to go back to what was easier and that was to drink. But it was never easier. It was the worst decision every time stole years of my life. The best thing I can tell you is this journey of recovery. It’s gonna have its ups and downs. There’s definitely gonna be some bumps in the road, but you’re doing exactly what you should be doing and that’s reaching out and telling someone how you feel welcoming and trusting people into your situation that’s the dynamics of recovery and how we help each other get over these tough times. Get to know yourself be gentle speak softly and when you’re feeling down, talk to you yourself like you would encourage someone that you really love. Pick up a book engage with others and if you pray, pray. Your mind, body and spirit is healing and it doesn’t always feel pretty. You can DM me anytime.
